HPE Acquires Cloud Technology Partners to Strengthen Hybrid IT Capabilities

Hewlett Packard Enterprise accelerates the performance of its cloud consultancy capabilities by acquiring Cloud Technology Partners, a company that helps clients devise and implement modern application delivery strategies that include everything from on-premises data centers to Software-as-a-Service.

โ€œItโ€™s a Hybrid IT world today for businesses. Achieving business outcomes requires tapping each workload in an appropriate environment, whether itโ€™s in an on-premises data center, in a private cloud, on public clouds or offered as a SaaS application," HPE source said in a press release.

Cloud Technology Partners helps sophisticated IT organizations move to the cloud. It does this by determining optimal apps for both public and private clouds. The company also executes migrations and help clients transform their organizations as needed. Since 2010, CTP designs, builds and implements IT solutions for Fortune 500 clients across multiple industries and completed hundreds of enterprise cloud transformation projects. Furthermore, CTP is a born-in-the-cloud services company with extensive experience on multiple platforms.

With CTP, HPE gets a consulting firm with experience in helping large organizations move to the cloud. One of the big challenges companies face, as they make this move, is figuring out what to leave on-prem and what to move to the cloud. They also often struggle to manage applications across a hybrid infrastructure. CTP will become part of HPE PointNext, which provides IT deployment and consulting services.

The acquisition is HPE's fifth technology acquisition this year alone with Simplivity, Nimble Storage, Cloud Cruiser and Niara. This acquisition strengthens and expands HPE Pointnext capabilities. Together, they will provide customers a comprehensive IT strategy that includes private, managed and public clouds, as well as traditional IT. In other words, CTP will help HPE make Hybrid IT a reality. CTP's consulting, design, and advisory services will bolster HPE's own "hybrid IT" consulting expertise. HPE's take is that most companies will continue to run some of their information technology in their server rooms and other workloads in one or more public clouds. It offers services to make those deployment options easier.

More and more, customers seek a trusted advisor who knows where the market is going and shapes their long-term roadmap to provide the solutions that will allow them to keep pace in this digital world.
