HPE OEM Solutions Meet the Team: Peter Pang
Join us this week as Peter Pang talks about his experience working with OEMs across the world and what they should do to gain competitive advantage in 2023.
Hi Peter, itโs nice to meet you. Could you tell us what your role as Senior Business Development Manager at HPE OEM involves?
I work with OEM customers and sales teams across the EMEA region to identify, enable and achieve design wins. These wins are with high potential, strategic OEM businesses that have at least a $5 million annual run rate.
My target businesses typically have long sales cycles of between one and three years. They also involve complex processes and technologies across various industry verticals such as healthcare, process manufacturing, and enterprise IT.
Given that we are at the start of a new year, what should OEMs in the healthcare and manufacturing industries be prioritizing in 2023 to gain competitive advantage?
In my opinion, these OEMs should be trying to differentiate their industry solution(s) by leveraging products, services and expertise from HPE OEM Solutions.
Youโve worked with OEMs across multiple continents. How do business practices differ between these regions?
For me, the main differences are in communication styles, negotiation methods, and business expectations. For example, some countries have a tougher negotiation style than others.
Youโve been at HPE OEM for more than 20 years. What are the most rewarding aspects of working at HPE OEM?
I have had the privilege to meet people and businesses of varying cultures and diversity. I also enjoy getting the opportunity to make a significant business impact and add value to both HPE OEM and our customers.
What is your biggest success of 2022?
I am proud to have achieved a key milestone of $100 million annual run rate design wins.
To wrap things up, what can we find you doing outside of work?
My first priority is raising my two teenage boys to achieve their full potential and become leaders in their chosen profession. I also love growing my own food with my wife, and reading about revolutionary, high-impact technologies that are being used to create new businesses.
