About CDE.....

i just wanna know that how does CDE working when the system is booted ? bcz i could not have login screen after rebooting.

is there anyone know about the working process?

# dtconfig -e (enable)
# init 2
# init 3

Hi,

most CDE problems arise, when the network configuration is faulty. Nevertheless you would get a login screen in most cases.

Check first what Robert-Jan suggested; if still CDE is not working, run the command 'dr_dt'.

Hi John,

I have seen problems like this and I usually found that one of my junior tech's had messed up and filled up the / directory or did some thing stupid like changing the permissions on /tmp.

Check to make sure the mouse is connected correctly. If no mouse is detected then X doesnt start.
