I have a bunch of servers I am changing from
arbitrated loop to switch fabric. All these
servers are hooked up to EMC. I have 11i and
mostly 11.0 HPUX. They are currently hooked to
EMC via Arbitrated Loop.
EMC is doing the hardware end of this big, but
I was told I need to change the unix boxes
- software change.
I have never done this before (of course)
and I wasn't sure what unix command I run
on each server to do this.
Is it the fcmutil command?
Has anyone ever done this? (I'm sure this is
a loaded question)
Last question, are there any patches or products besides the following:
11i:
FibrChanl-PCI FibreChannel;Supptd HW=A5158A
HyprFabrc-00 B.11.11.00 PCI/HSC HyperFabric; Supptd HW=A6092A/A4
11.0:
????
Any help is good,
Thanks..Laurie

SolutionYou can download this from:
http://www.software.hp.com
select drivers.
You can also check for the latest 11i version, and then you should get the latest patch bundle and load it, or look for the individual patches on this site.

Re: Arbitrated Loop to Switch Fabric
with A5158A card and this:
FDDI-00 B.11.11.01 PCI FDDI;SupptdHW=A3739A/A3739B;SW=J3626AA
FibrChanl-00 B.11.11.03 PCI FibreChannel;Supptd HW=A5158A
GigEther-00 B.11.11.14 PCI/HSC GigEther;Supptd HW=A4926A/A4929A/
A4924A/A4925A;SW=J1642AA
HyprFabrc-00 B.11.11.00
My 3 HP-UX at 11.0 are not currently on
any fiber but will be soon. They all
have A4926A 1000BT and the no drivers or
s/w for fiber or fabric. Can you tell
me what products I need to download?
There are no A5158A's on my 11.0 boxes.
Thank you so very much,
Laurie

Re: Arbitrated Loop to Switch Fabric
As far as I know, you need A5158A HP PCI Tachyon TL fiber cards to gain FS-SW support. The latest driver version for the same is B.11.00.06 and available on June 2001 appliaction CD.
Following is link for same card information
http://techsolutions.hp.com/fc/fchome.htm
Following is link for your gigabit ether card installation/configuration.

Thanks.
Prashant.
