burn a CD on N4000

I have quite a few files/directories and they are already backed up on a Netbackup tape.

Now I want to copy/write them to a CD. Is the CD drive on N class writtable, and what is the command to do so?

Thanks,

No the CD/DVD drive on a N class machine is not a CD-RW drive.

Re: burn a CD on N4000

You could ftp or zip and transfer the files to a pc and write a cd that way.

You can for around $1000+ purchase a SCSI r/w and HP-UX.

I can go look at the thing for the website if You're interested.

Re: burn a CD on N4000

HP has just started offering writeable CDs on some of the new HP-UX servers, but not backwards for the N-class which is out of production. I'm still not convinced that this is so great of an idea on a server. I like the idea of a PC where I can make sure that nothing else will run and interfere with the process of writing the CD. However, if there is a verify capability in the software then it might not be so bad.
How about a DAT tape?

look for some 3rd party product such as JVC Juke box; SCSI connection, comes with sw then you can write files to the CD.
