Re: cdrom not detected during cold install

You need to provide some more details here. Cold installing means that this is happening at the ILS/EFI level. But what server and how is the drive connected to the server?

Re: cdrom not detected during cold install

Yes its happening in ISL level. The model is N4000-44 and the cdrom is connected internally.

Re: cdrom not detected during cold install

The N4000 does not have an internal CDROM drive. So this one is connected on either the builtin SCSI connector or an addon SCSI card.

You need to check all wiring connections and power.

If there are other SCSI devices on the same bus check if there is a SCSI ID conflict.

If it is connected to an add-on SCSI adapter, check that it is NOT a FWD-SCSI adapter.

Re: cdrom not detected during cold install

Hi TTr,

Yeah its connected to an add-on SCSI adapter, and its a FWD SCSI adapter.
Please help what to do to boot the box from cdrom/dvdrom.

Re: cdrom not detected during cold install

To a F/W SCSI adapter?

Unlikely! I have never seen a F/W CD-rom drive. If the HBA is F/W and the drive isn't you can only damage the drive, but it will never work.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
