CIFS/9000 (Samba) and winbindd

In the general samba documentation, I can read about the configuration of winbindd for better user integration between a Windows domain and a HP-UX fileserver with Samba.

I cannot find the documented configuration files on my HP-UX 11i machine after installing CIFS version 1.08.

Is winbindd supported on CIFS/9000, and if so, how do I configure it ?

Re: CIFS/9000 (Samba) and winbindd

Wim,

Sorry but winbind is still not supported by CIFS/9000.
I tried to find out from HP when they will support it but could get no definite answer

Re: CIFS/9000 (Samba) and winbindd

Hi Wim,

I installed version A.01.08 in summer and encountered many problems. I did not have any with version A.01.07. There is a version A.01.08.01 available at HP since a Hp engineer told me that there are rearl problems contained in version A.01.08.

Re: CIFS/9000 (Samba) and winbindd

I was wondering .... How do you guys configure a CIFS/9000 fileserver in a Windows NT domain with about 800 to 900 users without having to create every user and a lot of groups localy on the UNIX system ?
