Re: cluster lock disk

Hi,

No, the lock disk is only used when there is no network available, so the server and the cluster will keep running. What you might experiance a havy logging dialogd / EMS messages in syslog and more cpu using cmcld since it will keep trying to get the disk.
Conclusion.
Keep the cluster lock disk available. And if it crashes replace a.s.a.p.

Re: cluster lock disk

nothing will happen, unless there is a need to request the lock disc, i.e. you have a cluster reformation due to node failures, and there is exactly 50% of the cluster nodes available at reformation time. If the disc is not available when this occurs, then the surviving nodes wil TOC.
If you do have a problem with your cluster lock disc, I recommend you get it fixed as soon as possible

Re: cluster lock disk

If the disk is still ok but only the clulster locker area "disappear", you can use "cminitlock". This tools is available on your support team. You can use it when cluster and pkg are up and running.

Re: cluster lock disk

Nothing happens until a need to read the lock arises. Dont try removing it any way!
