configure lexmark e322 on hp-ux

Hi, I'm running hp-ux 11i and I want to configure a lexmark e322 as a network printer, but it turned out bad so far. What do I have to do??? I've installed HP JetDirect but I'm not sure if it works with lexmark printers, if so can you please tell the exact steps I have to follow to configure it??? Thanx!!

If the printer is directly connected to the HP machine, supported with drivers you can try this:

establish an account for the 9000 box on the Primary Domain Controller so it show sup in the Network neighborhood.

Find a procedure for placing and sharing Windows print drivers for your regular users.

With CIFS/9000 Samba you should be able to share the printer.

For other HP-UX boxes, install the CIFS client to enable sharing.

Do not proceed if this printer does not have HP-UX and Windows printer drivers.

This is the driver for HPUX. Follow their install instructions. (We do not have lexmark printers here, so I have never tried this, I just looked it up for you...)

The printer is not directly connected to the server, instead it is used by a microsoft workgroup and I want to use so I can print unix docs.

The User's Guide for the lexmark drivers seem to imply that this can be done. I will attach for you. You can even set up a queue that will print via lp.

The Lexmark driver package must be installed first.

The file to download from http://drivers.lexmark.com/ is DRIVERS-HPUX1X.PKG.Z

uncompress it then swinstall it.

It will install "Lexmark Enhanced Printer Drivers Package" and "Lexmark Screen Fonts Package". After completion, run: /opt/lexmark/setup.print (use the default of bin for Administrative group, and install fonts as an additional font directory.

Then use lexprt program to add queues.

1) Create a virtual device (mklexdev), enter device name (same as queue) then 3) Network connection then accept.

Next, change the Logfile absolute path to: /var/adm/lp/.log

The print queue subsystem must be
shutdown to create the queue.

Answer y (only if monitoring is disabled - " /tmp/iprprt.lock ").

Enter the queue name (same as virtual device), press a to accept, then select the virtual device from the list. Use the following settings:
