Re: Creating Volume Group failure
with scsi, however I am still recieving the same error message. There still seems to be
to be scsi1, scsi2, scsi3 drivers that are not available in the current kernel configuration. Should they and can they be added. I have also located some patches that
refer to scsi1 scsi2 and scsi3 - Should they
be loaded? Thanks

Re: Creating Volume Group failure
Are you attach to the HAAS via a single controller? If so, do you have the jumper from one side of the HAAS to the other and is it then terminated appropriately?
I don't think you need the scsi1,2,3 drivers for your disks. The sdisk or disk3 driver should do it I think.
What does ioscan show for the controller that the disks are attached to? Does it show CLAIMED or UNCLAIMED?

Re: Creating Volume Group failure
is not an option. Does anyone know how to load the disc3 driver and where I can get it from?

Re: Creating Volume Group failure
What driver are your other disks using?
If you go into SAM->Kernel Configuration->Drivers, what disc drivers do you see in the list? What are their states? I currently have disc1,2,3,4 listed, but only disc 3 is 'In' the kernel. The other disc driver that you should have in the kernel is sdisk.

Re: Creating Volume Group failure
There is a very critical and important patch + dependencies.
hp-ux 10.20 S700 PHKL_16750
hp-ux 10.20 S800 PHKL_16751
The drivers you need are sdisk or disc3, also make sure you have the latest SAM/OBAM patch installed.
