D280 Server Reboots

Hi sir
I need help from you.I have a D280 server.It started rebooting continuosly from yesterday.There is no frequecy as such.it reboots at any time.I think some major harware failure.Can u suggest some solution.

HI,
let us know what /etc/shutdownlog says.
ALso do you see any error messages in OLDsyslog.log file?
Any LED indication...

The main problem with D Class server is it's Power On/OFF Switch can u replace it and confirm.We had supported almost 50 D series servers ,we used to face same problem.Try replacing the switch.

Check the file /var/tombstones/ts99. If the timestamp within the file is current, check the HPMC codes. HP support will be able to tell you from these what failed.

Check also for a crash dump in /var/adm/crash.

HP may want to diagnose the crash dump, or if you're brave, you can do it yourself with the attached documentation.

I got same feedback from my offcie,to replace the on/off switch.I am awaiting for it.
