device failed to attache

I am getting an error in syslog about failing to attach a device during bootup - it seems to point to /dev/vgxx/group file - any idea what this is caused by? Thanks

The actual error message(s) from syslog that you are receiving would be extremely helpful.

A guess would be that you have duplicate minor numbers for group files in your /dev/vg* directories.

But at this point I am just speculating as the lack of information makes you question too vague.
