FILE TABLE OVERFLOW

Hello I am getting an error in an HP-UX 11.11 "File table overflow" when many people are working remotely against it. I have searched through the docs.hp.com and the problem it because I need to configure more file descriptors. The issue is that I do not know whta is the correct variable name I have to change in the kernel configuration enviroment variables (maxfiles, nfile, ...) and what the formula have to be. Does anybogy know what??s the proper solution??

Thanks

Re: FILE TABLE OVERFLOW

Hi,
there are may issue in designig the correct values.

I can give you mine favorites, for a sap development installation.

maxfiles 2048
maxfiles_lim 2048
nfile (15*NPROC+2048)
nflocks (NPROC)
ninode (8*NPROC+2048)
nproc 2048

You can check your values with
sar -v to see if they are enough
