Re: Forumers statistics

procura,

Found the issue with your process. Under my profile, there are TWO categories:

business customer discussion groups
total points: 38

AND

IT resource center forums
total points: 11221

Time for two point Columns?

Re: Forumers statistics

Darn, truncated again. But you get the drift.

From the forum home I see

top users
1 A. Clay Stephenson 22639 pts.
2 James R. Ferguson 21228 pts.
3 Sanjay 11414 pts.
4 harry d brown jr 11221 pts.
5 Patrick Wallek 10678 pts.
6 Stefan Farrelly 9195 pts.
7 Alex Glennie 8012 pts.
8 Michael Tully 7937 pts.
9 Wodisch 6810 pts.
10 Sridhar Bhaskarla 6329 pts.
11 S.K. Chan 5739 pts.
12 Bill Hassell 5496 pts.
13 Bill McNAMARA 5432 pts.
14 Shiju Wilson 5361 pts.
15 Steven Sim Kok Leong 5292 pts.
16 Rita C Workman 4840 pts.
17 melvyn burnard 4792 pts.
18 Andreas Voss 4533 pts.
19 John Palmer 4445 pts.
20 Darrell Allen 4207 pts.
21 Ian 4192 pts.
22 RajMan 3905 pts.
23 Santosh Nair 3823 pts.
24 Paula J Frazer-Campbell 3726 pts.
25 Ramesh Upadhyayula 3701 pts.

So tomorrow, I'll have to browse their profiles with my eyes to see where the remaining points have gone.

My list is far nelow the maximum of 1MB, so I don't understand why it's truncated.

Maybe next time I'll zip

Hi Again,

Wow, looking at this data we can see that there are a lot of points lost!!

The rate it's too low, isn't it?

Re: Forumers statistics

Nice to see the good ol' Republic of Gu(inn)ess represented so well! ;)

Quick question re that, I've put down France since that's where I is at the moment.. should I put Ireland and mark another up for the boys in green?

Shure we'll all Irish on Paddys day anyway...

Later,
Bill

Re: Forumers statistics

Re-fetched the profiles for the 250 most recent contributors, and saw that when I fetch the profiles from http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/UserProfile/ I lack two days.

So here's a new top 250 of two days ago

Recent statistics, top 200

Total point gathered by the top 200:

18 Apr 2002 395014
22 Apr 2002 400126

that is 1278 a day! That should have made a lot of people happy :)

Re: Forumers statistics

HP does need to post this file somewhere on the main page or better yet, do all the processing themselves.

Weekly updates would be good.

Thanks procura.

Re: Forumers statistics

Well, I'd be able to do regular updates, but I think I need some help here.

1. How to get the *complete* list of member ID's. So far I've used the ID's from Paula's list
2. I want to have a method of knowing which profiles have been updated in the last x days, wget'ting 3400+ profiles isn't doing our network any good
3. I want to add extra info, that Patrick posts in the success thread: date first post, number of rabbits

At this point in time, 2. is the most critical.

Re: Forumers statistics

Hi, all you curious people!

If you are patient enough to live with monthly updates, I will try to post my list (ok, sorted, with position, name, id, and points) in plain ASCII in Dan's monthly threads - usually within the first few days of the following month (yes, I was late for two months in row - sorry)...

But to keep the bandwidth-waste low, I would prefer to not download ALL the individual member-pages, perhaps we can get those from Steven's open-point-finding-server?

Wodisch

Re: Forumers statistics

HP has a lot of this data already being collected by those that run this site and a nice internal web site / cgi script or similar which generates/updates them .....

eg points by month per user, number of post per user per month etc ....

I've asked Dan G if he could comment on it's wider release since you guys seem fairly interested in who's doing what etc .....
