GNOME setup and configure
I installed my HPUX11i with GNOME. I cannot find the config file under /etc/opt/gnome/gdm/gdm.conf as well as the cmd under /sbin/init.d/gdm.rc.
Any idea why as I can see the program was installed with swlist. I saw some contents of gnome under the /opt/gnome.
Thanks...

Re: GNOME setup and configure
Have you verified the installation with
swlist -l fileset -a state | grep -i gnome
Does the state show "configured" ?
Please let me know.

Re: GNOME setup and configure
Kent and Robert, thanks for your replies. I check the state of the fileset but returned with no results. Does it mean i need to re-install the gnome program? I selected the program during my OS installation.
Thank you.

I guess $HOME/. files also should be removed when you install different Gnome versions.

Re: GNOME setup and configure
10/15/03 14:22:19 SST END install AGENT SESSION (Aborted) <--see the date
swagent.log clearly shows that the gnome product was (re?)installed ok:
10/23/03 19:31:06 SST BEGIN install AGENT SESSION (pid=8807)
(jobid=OHPUX11i-0024)
Installing bundle "B6848BA,r=1.4.gm.46.2"
* 23 of 23 filesets had no Errors or Warnings.
* The Execution Phase succeeded.
I can see it was installed from cdrom (/mnt/cdrom), did you mount it with option -o cdcase? If yes, try without.I also saw many clear/unclear installs/uninstalls probably leaving some of the filesets. Please check on the mentioned GNOME help site what filesets you should have, check there are no remains and uninstall if there are,/sbin/init.d/swagentd stop|start and see.
And of course, break your record and give points to well deserving folks.

Re: GNOME setup and configure
Some info from my system:
1. /var/opt/gnome only contains gtk folder with some gtk* files.
2. cannot find gdm.rc in /sbin/init.d
3. swlist returned with
B6848BA 11.00 and 11i Ximian GNOME 1.4 GTK+ Libraries.
4. I installed HPUX11i TCE 64bits on B1000 workstation. Any problem? Version is Sept 2003.
