HP Predictive

Found a server I inherited that does not have HP proedictive running. I tried to psconfig but its missing a daemon. How do I set this up?
Here is the error ?

Psconfig can not establish communication with the diagnostics daemon, diagmond.
It may not be running. The run logs contain additional information.

Hp has now switched predictive with a new program called:

HP Instant Support.

This change has already happened as they are no longer sending out predictive modems for support.

You could try stopping and restarting diagnostics...

/sbin/init.d/diagnostic stop
/sbin/init.d/diagnostic start

John - tried stop/start and nothing - am I missing something ?

Is the DIAGNOSTICS var set to 1 ? Check /etc/rc.config.d/diagnostic file. If not vi the file and change it to 1 (to enable it), then run /sbin/init.d/diagnostic again.

You could try installing the latest Onlinediag software from the Support Plus CD. It might be quicker than trying to diagnose the fault.

Provided you're on HP-UX 11, you won't have to reboot.

I should have mentioned i'm at 10.20 hpux
