HP5430 CPU Temperature Check

Do you know if their is a HP-UX 11.0 command for checking the CPU temperature on a HP5430 server?

No, I don't think any such command is there in HP UX.

Hi,

Do not know the command but i point you in a direction.
Temperature is monitored by the GSP . I have see messages once when the server shut down becouse it was too hot.I would search for a GPS manual.

Hi Richard,

There's no way to see the specific temp, but you can monitor the syslog.log to see if the predetermined temp points have been passed.
I believe STM in conjunction with EMS can alert you to these events as well.

Not sure which type of server an HP5430 is.

On the N-Class at 11.00, there was a patch PHKL_24279 which was added to allow overtemp events to be sent to the syslog prior to the machine overheating so bad that the HW shut it down.

This patch also allowed for turning off this message or setting a threshold for the message.
