HPUX> prompt
Hi:
I am new to HP-UX, and the question I am saking may be very elementary. We ahve few Itanium based HP-UX 11i V2 boxes (Integrity Rx series), and I would like to know how to boot from cd and fix things when things fail.
The book says interrupt the os loading within 10 sec to go to the main prompt, type co and then bo p#
When the system first arrived, and I started it up for the first time, I went to this main prompt, and I believe that the autoboot was set to on.
Next time when I reboot and interrupt the boot within 10 sec, instead of going to the main prompt, it takes me to a 'HPUX>' prompt.
Please let me know if I am doing anything wrong?? Why it is going to the HPUX> prompt and not to the main prompt.
My main intention to go to the main prompt is to boot in single user mode or boot from a cd.
Thanks in advance.
Mitra

When a sys-admin say's maybe, they don't mean 'yes'!
