hi experts
i'm wondering if thier a limit for max number of inode (files) for filesystem
and if yes can i exceed this number

Hi Ahmed,
The kernel tunables ninode(HFS) or vx_ninode (VXFS) determine this. Check/set them with kctune:
# kctune vx_ninode ninode
Tunable Value Expression Changes
ninode 8192 Default
vx_ninode 64000 64000 Immed

I like Pete's answer! That said, for 'VxFS' filesystems inodes are essentially unlimited.
