Re: I can't login under X

Re: I can't login under X

OK so if this is 10.20 how come dr_dt says it's 11.00 ?

I also don't fully understand what you are saying wrt out of memory messages or the output seen after dr_dt ... your last comment.

I suggest running dmesg and a copy of your syslog.log too.

Re: I can't login under X

Aha
You have right it must be a 11, The others are 10.20

When I type
dr_dt it is the same, but by dr_dt>/proba

Then i see
ERROR: The expected depot or root does not exist at "/"
ERROR: There is currently no installed software on host "ltoux084" at location "/"
. (Note that you need to use "swlist -d " to manage depot software).

Re: I can't login under X

/etc/profiles[65] there is not enough memory

by failsafe
That is under command prompt login too.

I think that must be the problem
How can I check something by memory?

Re: I can't login under X

since this is a workstation and you appear to have some devices configured which may lend themselves to CAD or similar, are you trying to run any s/w at user login/ CDE start that might be eating memory ..... ME10 or similar .... just a thought ?

Re: I can't login under X

No there is nothing that eats so much mem.
But how can i check SWAP, maybe with them is something.
Or how ca i check the state of the memory

Re: I can't login under X

try swapinfo and glance if it's installed ?

Re: I can't login under X

Root login failsafe:
/etc/profiles[65] There is not enough memory avaible now

command prompt:
swapinfo : OK
top: memory OK(at login is 25752K free after a minute 58516K free)

assy_tst login:

many arg list too long
by type a command
ksh /usr/bin/top: arg list too long

.....................

At profiles 65. line is MANPATH, that is a big file more big the the avaible mem at failsafe login (with the tim more and more memory is free).

This all is the same under login is command prompt(not under X)

But no I see under Xerrors that(You must know, that before I restarted again I probed #export Display=host:0.0 )

I attach Xerrors

Re: I can't login under X

As you see at the beginn, that here was before another forum.
It can be the problem:
disk failed in / volume
bad detection of hfs filesystem --> vxfs
and now I have edited /etc/fstab hfs to vxfs
Now isn't any problem in fsck, but the problem with this login is the same.

Can I change vxfs to hfs.
Please read a litle the previus forum, maybe then cames the idea.
Thanks

Re: I can't login under X

How can I determine which was originaly the filesystem on /dev/vg00/rlvol3 mounted /
The mnttab says vxfs, but in the fstab was hfs, now I edited to vxfs

fsck -F vxfs -n /dev/vg00/rlvol3
fileset 999 iau 0 summary incorrect -fix(ynq)n
fsck -F hfs -n /dev/vg00/rlvol3
BAD SUPER BLOCK: MAGIC NUMBER WRONG

Re: I can't login under X

By reload the fsck says: The filesystem was modified.
I am at the moment in panic, I am on monday again here.
