Re: Identifying lan
Try to find it out by using
olrad -q
or
rad -q
or review your systems documentation or just tell us the model name.
I assume you know the card where the cable is plugged into, but you don't know which lanx is it, right?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

0/1/2/0 +
0/1/2/1 slot 2
0/3/1/0 slot 3
0/4/1 ... 4 port card in slot 5
0/4/1/0/4/0 port A

and so on
I guess this is all you need to know to configure your network.
Hope this helps!

Re: Identifying lan
slot 1 and 2 are not printed in this output, because they are not hot-plugable.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Identifying lan
Now imagine this on a superdome with 192 PCI cards ;-)
But the way to find it out is almost the same ...
Have fun!
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Identifying lan
olrad -q
is the crux of the matter, and from its output you can correlate HW address with the output from ioscan or lanscan and it makes it real easy.

Re: Identifying lan
Perhaps you decide now to install your card from slot 5 to 7 or 8 for better performance.
