Re: Ignite Installation: what miss

Are you having problems using Ignite_UX post-installation? Or just wondering if you missed something? My guess is you need the lastest pax patch...

Re: Ignite Installation: what miss

typicall ignite will complain on installation or on make_net_recovery from the client side.
You will need the latest pax patch (which will be in the ignite_all.tar that you swinstall on your network ignite server.) Other than that the ignite versions on the client systems will complain about an incorrect revision of ignite versus the ignite server, the ignite server on installation will create a software depot that you can swinstall the client from. All error messages will give you the command to fix the problem.

Normally you just need to make sure that you have a recent version of ignite and the pax utility if you want your local tape copy to be okay.. for networked ignite server/client configurations you should have no trouble other than to install a compatible revision of ignite on the client as on the server, look out for error messages and do as they suggest. I never had a problem resoring/creating for about 3 months (mac address problems encounted when restoring the same ignite backup onto different systems.. try to avoid that..)

Here are the pax patches that'll save you problems in particular if your filesystems/files are greater than 2G.

Bill
