Ignite Problem, net_cfg_prep

I'm trying to re-ignite a Dev/Test server, rp3410, and running into a problem with net_cfg_prep. We have re-ignited this server is the past serveral times with no problems. This time however I run into this error message during the Ignite process:

* Checking configuration for consistency...
NOTE: run_cmd: Process: 58 (net_cfg_prep): killed by signal: 11.
ERROR: Could not open /tmp/env.vars: No such file or directory (errno = 2).
ERROR: Could not execute net_cfg_prep
NOTE: System rebooting...

We are performing a network ignite and it does not matter whether I lan boot the server or reboot it from the Ignite Server or whether I select Guided or Advanced Installation, I received this error every time.

I have gone onto the Ignite Server and wiped out the Client information in /var/opt/ignite/clients for this server and Ignite re-creates it at the appropriate time, but the consistency check still fails. Also I can reboot this server with it original OS with no problems.

I have another rp3410 that just I re-ingited and it was successful. Both of these servers are running 11.11 and are going to use the same build image. The Ignite Server is running 11.11 and serves 11.11 and 11.23 PI images. The version of Ignite on it is C.6.2.241.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated before I open a ticket with the Response Center.

Hi Chris,

If possible install the Dev/Test server from the same LAN switch port as the other one.

Or double check if you lan settings are the same for both ports.

Seems like something is wrong with the Lan configuration

Thanks for the info! It got me going in the right direction. This particular server is sitting on the same VLAN and switch as the Ignite Server and the other server that I successfully ignited. The network setup appeared to be ok.

I did finally get the server to re-ignite. This server was in a regular rotation for net_recovery. What I did this time for this server is that I wiped out all the net_recovery and client set up on the Ignite Server so I could start from scratch with this server. Well I decided to bring the server back up on the original OS and run a net_recovery, which completed successfully. Then I went ahead and ran the ignite again. It worked this time!!!! I guess I did not clean up all of the net_recovery and client setup. Next time, leave that stuff alone!
