HPUX 11.00 on L2000 and doing make_tape_recovery (B.3.2.45)
Will the Ignite restore work to an L3000 system?
Any gotchas to be aware of?
Many thanks!

SolutionGood to see you here, again!
Ignite recoveries which change hardware but stay within the same architecture have very few, if any problems. As long as you transition 32-to-32-bit or V-class-to-V-class or 64-to-64 bit you should be OK.
Regards!

Re: Ignite/UX from L2000 to L3000
Since you are igniting the new server using the make_tape_recovery from the same class of server, you should not have any problem. It should work fine.
Hope this helps.

Re: Ignite/UX from L2000 to L3000
There should not be any probelms doing this. Check if any changes in the file systems, the OS versions etc.

Re: Ignite/UX from L2000 to L3000
This is not necessarily true. You may find that the machine may crash on reboot... see the following thread.
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0xb36c42308663d611abdb0090277a778c,00.html
I am not saying you will get problems, but it is a possibility.
I am still trying to find out the exact cause, but as yet havent been able to as the machine is in use.
