inittab failure

INIT: Command is respawning too rapidly.

Genreally the following message is
displayed due to a inittab failure.
How do I rectify the problem?

You can disable the samd in the /etc/inittab .

Have any files in /etc/rc.config.d been modified since the last reboot? These files should only contain variable assignments ie START_SAMBA=1.

Alternatively, you can disable the samd by commenting it out in the /etc/inittab file and re-examine the initialization process - "/sbin/init q"

now i have commented samd lien in inittab and am not getting any error messages.
Is ther any other option to resolve the issue.
