installing CiscoWorks2000 in a MC/ServiceGuard environment

Looking for advice regarding the installation of CiscoWorks2000 in a MC/ServiceGuard environment (HP-UX 11.0). Does anyone have any "lessons learned" that they can share?

Thanks in advance...

Re: installing CiscoWorks2000 in a MC/ServiceGuard environment

Hi Joseph!
I have CiscoWorks2000 installed on a stand-alone system. It is a very powerful tool, but it is heavy for the system too.
So, I do not have SG mixed with Cisco, but I would try it if I were you.
One thing, don't forget to change your NODE_TIMEOUT parameter to more than 5 seconds.
"EXPLANATION
ServiceGuard nodes periodically send a heartbeat (HB) packet to each other to prevent each other from reforming a cluster and adopting dead packages to another server.

If a server is heavily loaded, kernel processing takes priority over heartbeat generation and transmission."

good luck.
