Installing Citrix metaframe on HP 9000
I have a HP9000 running HP/UX 11.0. My core banking application runs on it. Clients are all NT4.0 professionals.
Can I install Citrix Metaframe server for Unix on HP9000 and give my clients access to the banking application using ICA ?
Do I have to purchase anything else apart from the "Metaframe 1.1 for Unix" ? Any other thing I should be aware of before implementing the solution ?

Re: Installing Citrix metaframe on HP 9000
I don't know what ICA is but here goes.
We have half-installed Citrix Metaframe last week. As you are running hp-uk 11 it should work. You need citrix metaframe on the application - which I guess you already know, but you then need NFuse to actually get the application into the internet - if this is your aim.
NFuse itself requires Java Server Pages (or jsp files). The person who was showing us had brought a pre-prepared version of Apache with JServ already built in designed for hp-ux 11 (shame we have 10.20) so you can try and find this in the hp-ux pages somwhere - i think it was in a depot format.
Licensing. NFuse itself requires no license but Metaframe does. You need a user license each application machine that has Metaframe on it. This user license must be for as many users you want to have running parallel on the application machine. The licenses can be purcahsed in steps of 5, ie a user license for 5 or 10 or 15 etc. users.
Hope this helps,
Pete

Re: Installing Citrix metaframe on HP 9000
I haven't done this, but as far as i know this is all you need.
Metaframe allows you to control the access to your Server and the ICA Client makes your ICA Server (Metaframe) accessible from nearly every operating system.
All you need is to take care that your applications can be run several times on the server. As every user will start "his own" application.
Hope this helps
Regards Stefan
