Re: interex 2005 HP Survey

Mark - what I meant was, Itanium HP-UX workstations - as the PARISC is going bye-bye - yet HP has also discontinued the zx2000 and zx6000.....so the real question is - what will HP be providing in the future for HP-UX workstations?

http://www.hp.com/workstations/discontinued.html

I need a workstation to run 11iv2 and eventually v3 - neither supported on my ole B2000....

I want a workstation that won't be end of life in a few years...and no - I don't want a rx2600 (server) mounted on its side next to my desk - have you heard how loud those are???

Rgds...Geoff

Re: interex 2005 HP Survey

I remember two or three years ago interex also presented a top ten wishlist to hp.

honestly I really think HP should finally include mirror disk and onlinejfs in the standard hp-ux bundles, or at least with the EOE - when comparing with Solaris or AIX the amount of features we get with our OS is laughable. (No mirror, no filesystem toys, no workload manager)

personally I'd also want 2GHz PA-8800 with 64MB Cache, but there's things we can get, and things can't get. But I'm not happy if there's neither.

p.s.: the german translation of the survey is a bit non-technical, I often had to guess what the english original stated to find out what was asked ;)

yesterday I stood at the edge. Today I'm one step ahead.

Re: interex 2005 HP Survey

If Florian can use this thread for a wishlist so can I!

I'd like to see something similar to the AIX errpt (error report).
