JetDirect like software for QMS and Tektronix Printers for 11.11

Has anyone out there developed JetDirect-like (port/socket definition) software for non HP printers on HP-UX 11i? This is so I can define networked printers as "local" printers instead of remote printers so printer classes will be supported?
