Legato networker license

chead01p:root [/nsr/logs] cat daemon.log
12/16/07 00:13:01 nsrd: registration warning: License enabler #none (NetWorker/10 Eval) will expire in 13 day(s).
12/17/07 00:13:00 nsrd: registration warning: License enabler #none (NetWorker/10 Eval) will expire in 12 day(s).
chead01p:root [/nsr/logs]

From server registration I found below events.

Networker 6.1.2 Build.340 Eval .

Expiration date :Dec 30 , 2007 .

Enabler code: None.

I am not sure if i have support for this product. How to get this license renewed?

Re: Legato networker license

You would have to contact Legato support about this.

Re: Legato networker license

Hi,

You currently have a evaluation product installed on your server. If you would like to have the full product you will need to contact EMC for a license.

Robert-Jan

Ps. there is a trick to extend the eval version for an other 30 days (if I remember correctly), have a look at this (german)doc. Let me know if you need more help.

Re: Legato networker license

Looks like the cause of the falure is missig /nsr/lic/res/lictype.res.

Did any one havey simialr issue?

Re: Legato networker license

---
Important: If the NetWorker server was also a Legato License Manager server, the License Manager lictype.res file is not restored when the server is restored. This is because the License Manager files and directories are not considered part of the NetWorker server. After recovering the NetWorker server, you must explicitly recover the License Manager as a client of the NetWorker server.
---

So was you legato server also an Legato License Manager Server?

Do remember when Networker was installed? From your last message I get the feeling you had a full product instead of eval version running and all of a sudden this failed.

Not sure;how ca i confirm that?(As far i know there is no separate license server) We had lost /nsr and recovered from the tape backup; But this was file was not restored.

Only one file i have now.Not the /nsr/lic/res/lictype.res

chead01p:root [/nsr/lic/res] ls -rlt
total 0
-rw------- 1 root sys 0 Nov 30 22:02 lgtolm.res

So we have NOT reinstalled anything recently..

Re: Legato networker license

Lets try to figure out what is installed? :-)

could run following command and post the output. Remember to change the enabler code before you post it.

# /usr/sbin/nsr/nsradmin -f /nsr/res/nsr.res

you will get the nsradmin prompt.
type:

nsradmin> show name; enabler code; expiration date; auth code
nsradmin> print type: nsr license

Post the output.

nsradmin> quit
to exit the prompt.

Re: Legato networker license

head01p:root [/opt/networker/bin] /usr/sbin/nsr/nsradmin -f /nsr/res/nsr.res
sh: /usr/sbin/nsr/nsradmin: not found.
chead01p:root [/opt/networker/bin] /opt/networker/bin/nsradmin -f /nsr/res/nsr.res
NetWorker administration program.
Use the "help" command for help, "visual" for full-screen mode.
nsradmin> show name; enabler code; expiration date; auth code
nsradmin> print type: nsr license
auth code: ;
enabler code: none;
expiration date: "Dec 30, 2007";
name: NetWorker/10 Eval;

I am not sure why it is showing as Evaluation.

below i got from GUI

Name : networker/10 Eval
Enabler code: None
Host id: 1e70d30c
Expiry date : Dec 30 2007
Licnese Type : E10

i am getting a temp license from EMC. But still need to investigate ...
