login error
When I am trying to login to a HP-UX server i get the following error :
yp_all: TCP channel create failure: RPC: Program not registered
Have anybody faced the same error and could anybody please let me know the reason for the same.

It looks like Your NIS server not responding or probably down.

Is your rcp.nisd running.
Check syslog informations for the problem occured during login. Get the rpcinformations with rcpinfo
check rpc.nisd(1M) man page to know about NIS+ service startup's

since you are not able to login, get into single user mode and check /etc/rc.log for any error. or you can post the errors you found.

The NIS server is either down or the TCP service for NIS is down or not registered.
Try the following:
#rpcinfo -p
this will tell you if any of the NIS services are running or not.
If this is a client then you probably have to go look at the NIS server and see if "ypserv" is running...
