Re: LVM patch recommendations wiht MirrorDisk/UX
how about applying the most recent (i.e. june 2001) General Release patches from the Support Plus CD. Then you have all patches for all your software in one go ;)
regards,
Thierry.

Re: LVM patch recommendations wiht MirrorDisk/UX
The November '99 CORE OS CD is a sound start, but there are lots of patches that should be applied to bring your server current. I would certainly apply the current General Release (GR) bundle.

Re: LVM patch recommendations wiht MirrorDisk/UX
Ok, earlier today I actually downloaded the latest general release bundle (a rather large 170 Mb worth). I have a couple of questions about applying this patch. First, would it be better to install the patches first, then install mirrordisk? Or does it matter? Second, the system has been running rock solid for 7 months since an upgrade to 11.0. Would installing all of these general patches pose a risk to the stability of the system?
Thanks for the help,
Aaron Cockrill

SolutionI would install your MirrorDisk/UX from the current Application CDROM and then the GR patches. This is the standard order during a cold installation and insures that all patches that apply to your system are applied based on your particular configuration.
I would go to Maintenance and Support -> Standard Patch Bundles -> View Support Plus Releases and click the GR bundle you are about to use. There are generally recalled and/or superseded patches. I'd, at least, skip installing the recalled ones.
Make sure, too, to choose the patch_match_target option of 'swinstall' to select patches that correspond to the products installed on your system.

Re: LVM patch recommendations wiht MirrorDisk/UX
