Make_recovery error

Good Day All

the make_recovery I ran today failed with the following error:
HP-UX System Recovery
Going to create the tape.
make_recovery(472): /usr/bin/dd failed,res=512,errno=9
Cleanup

Please help with the reason for this failure.

It appears you may have bad or worn media, a faulty tape unit, or something along the scsi chain that may be causing errors.
Try replacing the media, cleaning the tape unit, checking the connections and your syslog file for any other errors.
You should also ensure you have the latest SCSI related patches installed
You may need to try anohter tape drive.

PROBLEM
When running make_recovery, it will start and after a while fail with
the following error:

make_recovery(472): /usr/bin/dd failed,res=512,errno=0

Please check the log files to find the reason for the failure
/var/opt/ignite/logs/makerec.log1

It does look like you have a bad media, but I would also like to add that you should start moving to make_tape_recovery as well as make_recovery will soon be unsupported.

It was the tape media that caused the problem. It was rerun successfully.
