the make_recovery I ran today failed with the following error:
HP-UX System Recovery
Going to create the tape.
make_recovery(472): /usr/bin/dd failed,res=512,errno=9
Cleanup
Please help with the reason for this failure.

SolutionTry replacing the media, cleaning the tape unit, checking the connections and your syslog file for any other errors.
You should also ensure you have the latest SCSI related patches installed
You may need to try anohter tape drive.

PROBLEM
When running make_recovery, it will start and after a while fail with
the following error:
make_recovery(472): /usr/bin/dd failed,res=512,errno=0

Please check the log files to find the reason for the failure
/var/opt/ignite/logs/makerec.log1

It was the tape media that caused the problem. It was rerun successfully.
