Re: March 2006 AUTHORIZED ITRC issues thread

The link opened by the second of the three URLs in my message above somehow has a < BR > in the middle of it. When I view the source of the page, it is not present, but you can see it when you hover the mouse over the link, and when you click on it the page is not found.

This was seen with both Firefox and IE.

The same problem afflicts the middle URL that Geoff posted, also.

Re: March 2006 AUTHORIZED ITRC issues thread

Neither one works for me with Netscape, either.

Geoff's comes out like this:
http://www1.itrc.hp.com/service/p%3CBR%3Eatch/patchDetail.do?BC=patch.breadcrumb.main|patch.breadcru%3CBR%3Emb.search|&patchid=PHCO_34342&context=hpux:800:11:11

If I manually edit it to look like this:
http://www1.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/patchDetail.do?BC=patch.breadcrumb.main|patch.breadcru%3CBR%3Emb.search|&patchid=PHCO_34342&context=hpux:800:11:11

it works fine.

Re: March 2006 AUTHORIZED ITRC issues thread

Well - I guess the best thing to do is just go to the main "patch / firmware database" page:

http://www1.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/mainPage.do

And just search for those patches :)

HP moderator, please remove my duplicate post in this thread:

http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1012523

Submissions have been erractic today. Sometimes they go through on the first try, sometimes not. This reply got the "system unavailable" message on the first try, but apparently it went through.

Thanks.

They apparently have strange maple trees up in Canada, Geoff. Here in Vermont they drip sap which is boiled to produce syrup!!

Documents that should be available via search by keyword or search by doc ID are not found on US database.

Re: March 2006 AUTHORIZED ITRC issues thread

Lots of "System unavailable" messages today - I first saw them at 15.30 GMT, but I've not been on the forums much this week (too busy changing ip addresses) so it may be worse than I'm making it out to be.

Re: March 2006 AUTHORIZED ITRC issues thread

Shalom all,

The system unavailable problem is being worked on by HP engineers. Take a look back a few posts.

Its been known for a while that different browsers react differently to this problem and that IE seems to work when all others fail.

I'm thinking when the underlying problem is fixed, hopefully soon, then issues concerning browser support will fade away.

Yeah, I'm a hopeless optimist.

Thanks for reporting the date and time of incidents. Include your time zone so hard working HP engineers know where to look in the log for more data.

Looks like my "missing docs" issue was an expired contracts issue.

Re: March 2006 AUTHORIZED ITRC issues thread

Folks,

Thanks for your continued assistance!

Todays performance issues have pointed towards some excessive unwanted web bot/spider/crawler activity, we've taken steps to block them. The lab are keeping a close eye on traffic, no doubt they will be back!!

Cheers,

Re: March 2006 AUTHORIZED ITRC issues thread

Great news Gary,

As you work on this issue, its important to make sure google and other search engines are able to index itrc forums on a normal basis. My substitute for finding particular threads to the HP(broken) internal search engine is google with the site:forums.itrc.hp.com directive.
