Re: March 2006 AUTHORIZED ITRC issues thread

I've also noticed things have been more reliable this week. I've never had to post twice (I use Firefox on Windows); although I have seen the 'unavailable' messages, the post has gone through. I'm wondering if some check has been added to the server to prevent duplicate posts, since some people are apparently hitting Submit more than once but no double postings result.

Interesting question about sendmail, but I'm not sure a thread about ITRC issues is the best place to get a response :-)

Re: March 2006 AUTHORIZED ITRC issues thread

Hi SEP,
I've not connected to itrc for many weeks, because I've been busy.
So, just today I discovered your imoprtant role in this thread.
Congratulations, you deserve it ;-)

An now, please, I've a trouble, here http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1015015
I wrote wrong title :-(
I wonder if you can delete the word "2003" from title, because the server is not really Win2k3.

Thanks a lot.

Re: March 2006 AUTHORIZED ITRC issues thread

Last night I answerred a topic in the HPUX/database forum about extending oracle files behind a tablespace.

The question was posted in French from Morocco.
I made considerable effort to explain the author that we work in English here and then answerred the question in detail making very sure to make the answer useable to all, even if 'it was all french to you'.

This topic is appear deleted without a word of warnign to me. The author probably got a warning Email and his submission back, but I want my work back also!

It was a carefully written reply which I hoped to re-use as needed in the future and it just vaished. Poof.

I want to know that the writter at least got my responses forwarded before the delete
But I reallly want my effort back, along with the original topic/author info.

I'm rather unhappy about this.
Regards,
Hein.

Re: March 2006 AUTHORIZED ITRC issues thread

Hein van den Heuvel,

I'm sorry your content was lost. One thing I learned earlier this month, once a thread is deleted, nobody can bring it back.

There appears to be no system in place for a moderator to log WHY she/he removed a thread. I may be wrong.

Can you please create a thread, post your content those of us who which can bookmark it?

Thanks.

Re: March 2006 AUTHORIZED ITRC issues thread

Thank you very much for your participation in this thread.

Pete Randall has posted the April version.

Speaking for myself, I'm not against another solution to the issues thread. Many thanks for the support in the thread and quietly through the email from ITRC people and HP people.

I'm very happy to be able to participate in these forums.
