Mark disk as unused doen't clear the usage

Good day,

From our XP12000, I added many luns previously "used"   on another server recently retired,   and now I am not able to make them "unused'  for my new server.  In the "HP-UX Disks and File Sustems Tool" I see disks unused and many lableled "LVM" that I wan to change to "unused".

The "Mark disk as Used' doesn't work. Is there a line command to make my new lun selection "unused".

thanks,

Jacques

It is not clear how you are determining that the LUNS are "Used".  When you  vgexport a volume gbroup, the original LVM information is still on the LUNs. You must use pvremove to clear the LVM information on the LUNs. That removes the LVM code so that a pvcreate will succeed without using the -f (force) option.
