Max number of logical ip interfaces to one network card?

I have a box with one lan card and 6 logical ip addresses on it. ie.
lan0
lan0:1 ....to lan0:5.
I have these for various websites.
The load is not bad at all. They run fine.
But is there a limit?
I don't really intend to run more that 10.

That's it. Steve

Steve,

I think you are restricted to 256, but the actual restriction is your bandwidth and kernel parameters related to open files.

Thanks Guys.
I don't intend to go nuts adding ip addresses like there's no tormorrow. But I did not want to add another card just for one temporary ip address.
