I upgraded R390 from 10.20 to 11i and when it comes back I tried to mirror the boot disk. I excuted #pvcreate -B /dev/rdsk/c0t5d0
it came back with error can not read. Then I tried again #pvcreate -fB /dev/rdsk/c0t5d0
it came back with prompt but when I tried to do #vgextend /dev/vg00 /dev/dsk/c0t5d0
it came back with error cannot extend. Finally I called HP support and confirmed the disk was bad. My fquestion is, was I doing wrong? when I check the man page it says -B is not supported for 11i. If -B is not supported how can I proceed?
Thank you very much
Daniel

Re: mirroring boot disk
Hi Daniel,
It IS supported in 11iv1 (11.11)
It is NOT supported in 11v1.5 (11.20) that's an old Itanium only version.
You DO need to use -B - or you'll have to repeat the entire mirror sequence.
HTH,
Jeff
