There are no words or comments that can match to what anyone does . When I had joined the intricate web of career I use to love the mentors whoose advice and suggestions use to work and ofcouse the thrill that one gets from helping anyone specially on something that you know is great . There is nothing equal to that feeling in this world . One of the healthy palces is this forum and sometimes even though there are not many answers the days expereince that one gets is long enough to make him last to the next day. I am thankful to you for the direct and indirect contributions you make in making lives easier . The very fact that even though we dont know you and still appreciate you work talks miles about you and like Frost said

the woods are lovely dark and deep
but I have promises to keep

and miles to go before I sleep
and mile to go before I sleep.

It is always nice to see someone get to retirement. 25 years ago I didn't even think about it, now I worry that I will make it.

Good luck in retirement. I know I will miss you being at HP. I always knew that whem "Bill" posted a response here not only was it definately credible, it was also supplemented by excellent explainations as well as any possible pitfalls that that one should look out for. I have a text document with various snippets of ITRC responses that I reference often and you comments in it are frequent.

BTW, if I do see your book in the book store, I'll will definately be buying a copy. Should be wondefully educational and informative.

OK, this is 2 year old news...

So in the last 2 years, I formed my own consulting corporation and now I am Director of IT at an accounting/check-processing service company. We specialize in child and family protective services for 4 states.

Yes, I'll be at HP World. I have 3 papers and an all-day seminar on advanced sysadmin techniques for HP-UX.

And the book is nearing completion. I've had to cut out some of the 9.0 stuff (this book has been in progress for a long time). I'll let everyone know when it's available.

And the DJ business continues to be fun. Gotta keep my hand in it just in case this computer fad goes away. I may have to change my title from DJ to CJ since most of my shows are sourced from my laptop.

Hi Bill,

Unfortunately I cannot make HP World in Chicago, but I am looking very much forward to getting a copy of your book. Put me down for an advance copy, and I hope it's soon. I don't want to see 10.20 fall off the pages as well ;^) I would love to share it amongst my team. Sometimes they don't believe where I can get some of my knowledge from for free, guess what a lot from your wisdom.
