multiple disk

i have 20 disk in one volume group. My disks is under different raid groups on the san level. Does having a single volume group instead of multiple volume groups make any difference to the performance , I/O of the system or any other drawbacks.

Thanks

Re: multiple disk

What size are your disk? Eventualy you will run into MAX PV problems. As far as I/O that would depend on where all the disk are located. if there all on one controller the answer would be no. Either way it's always best practice to keep things clean.

Re: multiple disk

my disk are of 15 Gb. I am no tworried about running to max pv. I was more interested in knowing if keeping under one vg has impact on unix level
