need more than 8 characters password

Dear all

My OS is hp-UX 11.i by default it takes 8 character log password(after 8 character it ignore all character) but i need to cinfigure more than 8 character as password can any onr tell me how can i do this configuration

Use sam to convert your system to trusted.

You will see an option in there to convert to trusted system.

Note, some users will lose access because they don't meet minimum standards. They need to be informeed in advance.

If local account passwords are not required > 8 characters, use LDAP-UX to connect to a directory.

Your password lockout/expiration/length/etc policies will be dicated by the directory instead of by DES56 on the host.
