Re: New disk has 0 size
have did #pvcreate -f /dev/dsk/c1t9d0, still if you are seeing 0 bytes perform low level format(#mediainit -f /dev/dsk/c1t9d0) on that disk

Re: New disk has 0 size
If you have online diagnostics installed
software.hp.com/SUPPORT_PLUS/
you can run a tools-info-run to get all
information on the hw.

Re: New disk has 0 size
Proceed like this
1.ioscan -fnC disk | grep c1t9d0 should tell you whether the disk is being sensed or not. Then do a insf -e.
2. Do a mediainit -f /dev/rdsk/c1t9d0.
3. pvcreate -f /dev/rdsk/c1t9d0.
with this you you should be able to get the correct size and the disk usable.

Re: New disk has 0 size
You should try what Manoj told you, but you can try to run a dd on that disk by doing:
"dd if=/dev/dsk/cxtxdx of=/dev/null bs=64"
if it gives something like:
23451+0 records in
23451+0 records out
it's OK. But if it gives some different values then it needs to be changed.
good luck.

Re: New disk has 0 size
I'm just wondering how you have the drive connected. It could be a cabelling problem, perhaps incorrect termination or the drive may be incompatible with the slot you've place it in to.
I think more info is required on the disk and it's physical cableing.
Although, if it did work before, then it sure sounds like a disk problem.
