New to UX vpar/npar creation
I have been handed a server that is a rx8640.
It has 2 partitions on it. 0 and 1
I can get the partitions to boot up.
They do not have any vpar software on them.
We have an Ignite server, and I was told it has the vpar software and a Golden Image on it.
Can anyone help point me in the right direction for installing the first vpar/npar.
I understand that being new some of these question may seem minor.
Many thanks

See the nPartition Administrator's Guide

You need to install vpar software on them.

Re: New to UX vpar/npar creation
once it s done you lle be able to create vpar using vparcreate ie set number of processor, memory, IO slots and name of each vpar you desire
once created you ll be able to install OS on each of your vpar from your ignite server

Re: New to UX vpar/npar creation
Now when I boot the OS it does not have vpar/npar software.
So I need to investigate the Ignite server and see if I have vpar/npar software presented as a DEpot?
Is the npar/vpar software seperate from each other?
I have done a vparcreate on other systems that were already running vpar/npar software.
I guess my real issue is the first vpar/npar and how to create it.
Thanks for all the advice. I will look into this and respond
