NFS

Good Morning,

I have some NFS mounts on an Nclass. The system that hands out the directories has changed, so the N does not know where to mount . My question is , every time I issue a bdf I get the following errors. I know you should not manually edit the mnttab so I did not. I did comment out the nfs entries in fstab. Why am I still getting errors.
Thanks.

bdf: /app/ps/hrtst8/intrface/edi: No such file or directory
bdf: /app/ps/hrtst8/intrface/talx_gates: No such file or directory
bdf: /app/ps/hrtst8/intrface/reporting: No such file or directory
bdf: /app/ps/hrtst8/intrface/hipaa: No such file or directory
bdf: /app/ps/hrtst8/intrface/ach: No such file or directory
bdf: /app/ps/hrtst8/intrface/tbt: No such file or directory
bdf: /app/ps/hrtst8/intrface/check: No such file or directory

Re: NFS

You can try removing /etc/mnttab, this will clear them up but the mnttab will be recreated. If you changed the system that hands out the directories without unmounting on your N class then you really need a reboot to clear it up properly.

Re: NFS

You can try fooling with umount (I have - for days) but I think the ultimate answer is going to be a reboot.

Re: NFS

Ok, thanks. I'll schedule a reboot of this system this weekend. I don't reboot on a weekly basis. Only quarterly to test the hardware. I have some systems up for 200 days or so. Apps are running pretty smooth on all systems. Well, thanks for your answers, always appreciated.
