Re: Oracle10g Installation
Dear Pinki,
There are some kernel parameter change and user&group creation & profile relataed pre-install settings are to be done before starting the installation.
Please check the installation CD of the oracle ( 1st CD) it has a very detailed precedure for everything.
With regards,
Siva.

Re: Oracle10g Installation
Try to run the validate script (downloadable from metalink) which will help you determine the missing environment variables or other settings as well as patches.
hope this helps!
kind regards

If you dont mind, can you please send this script? Because i dont have registration at the metalink and when i try to register, they ask for some code that i dont have, if you can send me that script it will be very helpful for me to know whats going on.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Oracle10g Installation
i come back once again
I have run the validate script and it failed at GOT OS packages? rule, displaying GOLDQPK11iNotFound error but i have installed June 2005 GOLDQPK11i. But when i execute swlist | grep GOLDQPK11i there are no output, but with swlist | grep GOLD there is the following output:
GOLDAPPS11i B.11.11.0506.4 Applications Patches for HP-UX11i v1, June 2005
GOLDBASE11i B.11.11.0506.4 Base Patches for HP-UX 11i v1, June 2005
Isnt it correct?

Re: Oracle10g Installation
I think you should run a patch assessement and install all bundles/patches recomended by HP:
http://www4.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/assessSystemsPage.do (you will need to run the cpm_collect.sh script and upload it to ITRC)
