Permission problem with CIFS/9000 Client

Hi,
I have a NT file system mounted with CIFS/9000
Client on a HP-UX 11.00 system. User "root"
is authenticated (cifslist -U) and can access the share mount point and read the files on it, but cannot delete or create files (permission denied/cannot create errors).
The permissions of the share mount point are rwxrwxrwx, the cifslist -A command shows that
the share has read/write permissions.
What can be the problem ?

Thanks

Hi,

Did you try with another user ?
Is it working ?

The computer is a great invention, there are as many mistakes as ever, but they are nobody's fault !

Of course! I tried also with another authenticated user "ora815" but with the
same result.

Re: Permission problem with CIFS/9000 Client

Just asking, but did you look at the permissions on the NT file system from the NT side? I'd make sure that the group 'Everyone' has full access first to make sure your UNIX users can write to the filesystem, then start whittling it down to a particular group or user(s).

Hi Michael,
we verified that the NT user that mounted
the file system had no create and delete
privileges.
Problem solved.

Many Thanks,

If my suggestion made any difference, assigning some points might be nice...

I know, I know, it's a shameless plug...
