PGP or SSL

Hello,

If I had to choose between PGP or SSL, what should I choose?
Can you please give an explanation why you're choosing one of those.

Thanx

Re: PGP or SSL

It depends on what task(s) you are going to be using them for.

The way I see it, PGP and SSL are both good ideas, but generally used for totally different things.

If you are going to be doing anything via a web based interface, then I would go with SSL. SSL, I believe, is built into most WWW servers and should be fairly easy to make use of.

PGP, on the other hand, is good if you are going to be sending any files to a remote location via FTP over the internet. I currently use PGP to encrypt files that we send to our bank via FTP. It seems to serve its purpose quite well.

I concur with what Patrick has said. I would add that if you download openSSL, I would suggest you get revision 0.9.6 as that has some perf enhancements for PA-RISC

Re: PGP or SSL

Hello All,

You still can sent your messages.
Why I'm looking for this, is because of mail encryption using imap?
