Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for December 2002!

Hi Dan,

Me too. SSI errors. Hadn't seen one of those in a long time (and I didn't miss them a bit).

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for December 2002!

Hi Dan,

Finally I've got a reply screen.

I saw this SSI error earlier this morning (about 9:00AM CST or so) while doing a reload on the HP-UX Family home page:

Error processing SSI file '/cm/FamilyHomeContent/1,11868,LoggedIn!117,00.html'

I also noticed while this page was coming up that a couple of requests were going to europe.itrc.hp.com.

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for December 2002!

Today the IRTC has been painfully slow. In fact it's been virtually useless.

Trying to reply for me has been a 30 minute affair from clicking on reply to having the entry page appear.

Other areas of HP seem to be slow as well, such as FTP'ing down security software. The download page took over an hour for one download to even start.

Using Netscape 7.1 Linux and Solaris receiving many 404 errors, and SSI failures today. Maybe just a bad day?

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for December 2002!

Shannon,

Well, there's the root of your problem. Your trying to access an HP site from a Solaris box. HP probably has some checks built into the site so that if you are using a competitors product, it doesn't like it. ;)

Just kidding. That was too good to pass up!

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for December 2002!

Hi,

My "reply" button is bringing up 404 through either IE or Netscape. I don't know where the problem is.
Mozilla seems to be working fine though.

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for December 2002!

Reply to this thread still often tries redirecting to a US site.

Opera 7 (again a new build) still is a problem, but that probaly ain't your fault.

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for December 2002!

I was working on ITRC forum today and suddenly at 16:00 Sydney time the site was not accessible. I could not do nslookup to this server even by changing my DNS server to atlanta or singapore. As a curiousity i loged a call with HP Australia and spoke to Rob. But can anyone tell me what the real problem was. This problem was almost for 2 hours and everything seems to fine now. This happened through Local ISP and even through our corporate site.

Hi Dan,

For a while there this afternoon, response was absolutely terrible - opening threads, replying to threads, attempting to page down to find this thread. It seems better now but it was really bad around 1500 EST.

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for December 2002!

Dan,

You've got a time sync issue with one of the servers AGAIN!!!! Check out this thread:
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0x2dcd50dde50cd71190050090279cd0f9,00.html

The timing seems to be off by 20-30 minutes again. The response listed first supposedly occurred 21 minutes before the question was posted. My response should be one listed first.

The admins / developers on these servers really need to figure out how to keep whatever time sync software they are using working correctly.

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for December 2002!

Hi Dan,

I know you are tired of hearing about the time problem, but I just wanted to suggest that it could be a hardware problem. We had an L-class box that started gaining time to the tune of about 8 minutes per hour. The ntp software couldn't keep it in sync, and it turned out to be a problem with one of the hardware clocks. It drove us nuts for a day or so until HP figured it out.

Just a suggestion. Keep up the good work!

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for December 2002!

Just before the rework of the forum, about half a year ago, I was able to asign points to a message more than once, causing my percentage to raise above 100% :)

I /think/ I'm able to do so again, because I was always 3 answers ahead. I left one open for testing Opera 7, so I expect to be 2 ahead, but instead I read:

This member has assigned points to 348 of 340 responses to his/her questions.

8 ahead and one in store. Great. Shall I make misuse of it to increase that to incredible height, or will you solve the Opera 7 issue :)

I am *realy* enjoying this forum.

Enjoy, have FUN!

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for December 2002!

Hi Dan,

When I do a search on a particular topic, and get the results listing the relevant forum items, it would be useful if it also displayed the icon for it being answered/resolved. This would enable me to find a solution quicker by knowing if a forum question has received a useful response.

Hope this makes sense?

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for December 2002!

Hi Dan:

Not sure what was up, but yesterday afternoon (in Michigan USA), I was not able to post replys. I got the reply screen, but after entering my reply and submitting, it just hung. Made a couple of repeats, even on other threads, and still hung. Now it works fine!

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for December 2002!

Hi again Dan:

I Also saw the time stamp problem this morning. I posted a reply to edit binary files, then after that , I posted to this thread. The time stamp on the edit binary file is nearly 1/2 hour after my last post to this thread.

Have a great Christmas and happy new year. This website cranks!

Hi Dan,

I'm having the same problem as Tom. When I reply to a post, in most cases it hangs or shows page not found. I go back and re-submit or re-re-submit and it goes.

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for December 2002!

Dan,

If this time sync issue wasn't so damn annoying, this example would be quite funny:

Please, please, please get this thing (permanently) fixed before we go nuts.
