Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for February 2003!

Hi Dan,

Just a suggestion - I am from HP Openview. Wouldn't it be good to have a HP internal site, pointing to the forums website? I believe it'd do a lot of good. Is there one already? Let me know if there is.

The problem is that my email notifications come in very late when most of the points are already taken ;-)).

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for February 2003!

Had problems every day this week simply trying to reply to any message, or create a new message. Just says page cant be displayed (cant contact server). Later in the day it seems to be fixed by someone and it now works. Today (Wed) it was fixed around 9:30-10am GMT today.

Any ideas ??

Cheers,

Stefan

Hi Dan,

Bizarrely the e-mail notification has just started to work, although it has taken about 3 replies to the thread before I got one notification.

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for February 2003!

Same problem as Stefan. Today is the first day this week that I've been able to reply to any post.

I also notice that the time at the top of this screen states

post date: February 12, 2003 11:11 AM GMT

but it's only 10:35

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for February 2003!

Dan,

It's a humorless day on the ITRC. I tried the search engine for 'humor' and I got this result:

Your search for humor produced no results!

Much like network TV! ;)

I have to go get my blood pressure checked this morning and I was going to print out Patrick Wallek's humor threads to read in the doctors office before I get checked, hoping for a lower reading. Oh well.

Dan,

In trying to submit the above mentioned URL for John, I got numerous 404 errors. It took probably 10 tries to actually submit.

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for February 2003!

Pete,

Thanks! I feel better already.

The doctor said she will put me on some pills if my blood pressure is high this morning, so I'm hoping to avoid that. On the other hand, Viagra started out as a blood pressure medicine and then an interesting side effect was discovered....

John,

I'm already on two cholestorol medications and one for gout. Haven't seen any problems requiring Viagra, thank goodness.

Think calm mellow thoughts . . .

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for February 2003!

Dan: I tried several times this morning to reply to:

http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0x811831ec5e34d711abdc0090277a778c,00.html

I always get "page not found". This guy has been hanging from 2/3/03, no answers, easy question. I think his question is broken, although how that could happen is quite beyond me.

Maybe via "maxbeers=8192" or something... Anyway, let us know when it's fixed so somebody can help this poor fellow.

Hi Brian,

I replied to the question you pointed out...try again and let me know if you still have an issue. Its possible this may be a cookie issue with you.

Thanks,

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for February 2003!

Dan,

Really spotty performance this morning from 0820 EST on. Reload of the HP-UX home page will occasionally fail with "document contains no data". This last time, it succeeded but took 119 seconds, however, it took only 2.2 seconds to open this issues thread. I have checked other sites as well and see no issues other than here (with the exception of cnn.com, which has been in la-la land for the last 2 days).

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for February 2003!

Dan,

I didn't want to speak too soon, but it would appear that whatever the anomaly was, it's gone. Shortly after my prior posting, things seemed to return to normal (with the exception of cnn.com which took 2249 seconds to download a page).

Disregard.

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for February 2003!

Dan, I am unable to login into this site with my existing ITRC id -

http://education.itresourcecenter.hp.com/

Why is this so? you could provide a single id and a single sign-on to itrc and all related sites.

Is it just me, or is the HP-UX family page format whacked?

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for February 2003!

Hi Jeff:

It's just you! :-))

No, seriously, the post that begins with "Openssh ref: ..." is so long that the whole page is extended horizontally. It "corrupts" every page that later references it. Yuk!

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for February 2003!

It's just you Jeff!!!! ;) Just kidding.

The HP-UX family page does appear to be a bit off. I'm using opera (6.05) and the "replies" and "date" columns are a bit off. The heading looks like "repliesdate". The date is displaying like:

02/
14/
03

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for February 2003!

It's just funny that usually it's *wrapped* better than that.
Seems they sure know how to wrap the reply window.....

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for February 2003!

I tried to report the "HP-UX page what-the-bleep formatting problem", but the format was so stretched the reply button was missing...

Fortunately, not all pages are tweaked by the wrap crap app, so I got here on the "general" page. And, of course, I was late, as usual.

Oh. I mean, um,

"No, It's just YOU, Jeff!!"

Right. --bmr

Re: Please Submit Your ITRC Forums Issues for February 2003!

Jeff, thanks for pointing this out...had to remove the URL from the title string as Jim pointed out.

James, Patrick and Brian....nice replies!

Paul S., I'll see that it is moved.

Rumkumar, no idea why it is different. I suspect it may have something to do with the purchasing aspect of the education courses?

Thanks,
Dan
