Printronix printer - serial
Hello
I have a Printronix printer currently networked to a SCO system. I need to port
it to my HPUX system and print from the HP spooler via a port.
Have defined it OK, and it prints but the output gets garbled after approx 10
lines.
I think additional stty settings are required.
Anybody got the stty settings to go into the script for this kind of printer?
Thanks in advance.
Martin

Re: Printronix printer - serial
It would help to know which interface file you are using with this printer
(dumb, dumbplot, etc.)

Re: Printronix printer - serial
I'll prefix this response with "Its been awhile since I did this"
I remember this problem - It was either baud rate of the printer - should be
set the same on the port (are you using dtcmanager, or ddfa?) Using dtcmanager
and a terminal controller, you should be able to control that.
Or it was the protocol - hardware control or software control - I think I had
better luck with XON/XOFF.
Good luck.

Re: Printronix printer - serial
Still trying... to get the printronix to print.
Have used a variety of interfaces but concentrating on the dumbnoff (dumb no
form feed.)
I am sure there is a conflict between the stty settings and the printer
hardware set up.
Not sure which is the best way next ?
Thanks in advance
